Common Misconceptions of Laser Tattoo Removal

Misconception #1-Laser tattoo removal is a fast process:  Laser tattoo removal has come along way over the years, but is still a process that requires patience and time. Many different factors can contribute to your own tattoo removal journey. Such as age, tattoo density, tattoo location, tattoo color, general health and wellness, and over all body reaction. The tattoo removal process is different for everyBODY. Keep in mind to see the best results and the results you want, patience is key.

Misconception #2-Laser tattoo removal is pain free: Getting a tattoo removed is not a pain free process. Let’s just rip the bandage off that. Think back when you got your tattoo, was it pain free? Probably not.  Pain can very on different parts on the body depending on the location of the tattoo. If pain is something you are concerned about, one of our amazing technicians can take you through some steps on how to help manage pain during your treatment.

Misconception #3- All technologies are the same: Everyone who has a clinic out there that offers tattoo removal will always claim that have the best laser or technology for the job, however that is not always true. Some clinics can purchase non FDA approved lasers which can be very dangerous, so it’s important to do your research. Here at Vanishing Point we  believe having the best technology is our number one priority. Our FDA approved laser is the Quanta Discovery Pico System that has both Q-switch and Pico settings with multiple wavelengths to treat every unique tattoo.

Misconception #4- I Don’t need any After-Care: After every treatment during your tattoo removal journey after care is VERY important. Following proper after care such as; avoiding direct sun exposure, not elevating your core body temperature, nothing strenous after a treatment, staying hydrated, and using ice during the following days after treatment will have a significant effect on your removal process. Here at Vanishing Point after care is very important to us so we go over aftercare verbally as well as giving an aftercare envelope with instructions post treatment.

Now that we have gone over the misconceptions of tattoo removal, you can now know what to expect. Here at Vanishing Point we have laser certified staff that is paired with the safest technology to give you the best optimum results for your tattoo removal journey. We offer free consultations and look forward to seeing you!
